mt 654 replacement or repair for a m923

I would have to agree that if you ran it that long, losing that much oil, and now it won't go into forward gear, then you cooked it, so your now looking at a replacement or rebuild. I tend to agree with the other member, cost wise i would look for a good pull out being sold by another S.S.member...

M35A2-AZ you sir are correct, no low range in reverse, there is even a warning placard mounted on the dash of the M939 series of trucks, stating do not use reverse while the transfer case is in low range.

    m923 turn signal lock

nadroj, on the 3 lever light switch, you have to hold the one lever on the lower right side up while you move the top center lever switch to the on position. After turning on these switches you will now have power to your turn signals. Oh one more VERY important point, if you don't turn on your...

Won 2 new to me 931a2s!

I'd call ahead and ask Jeff if at least one of the trucks still has it's BII kit in it, if they don't have the kit you'll need to pick up a jack, lug wrench and a chain fall to get the spare tire off the back of the truck. Remember the super single tires weight right around 500 pounds each, not...

Air Leaking From NHC250 Fan Drive Clutch Actuator

Machinist75,i am sorry to say i can't answer your question, when i left my last employer, they were closing down the whole plant, they were kind enough to give me two complete O ring kits. These two kits are made up of both Viton and EPDM O rings, and cover both thick and thin cross sections...

Thanks Tow4, i took your advice and took it apart on the truck. I cleaned and polished all the brass parts, replaced the 3 O rings, lubed all O rings and bore with Parker O ring lube, reassembled it, it now works great. Oh one more thing, some of the photos i have seen of other actuators taken...

No More Water Pump Leaks When Tightening The Fan Belts

UPDATE: Well i just got back from a 100 mile test drive and so far the idler is working great. Now time and miles will be the real proof if this pulley is a help or not, but i do have to say i did notice a difference today. Today out side temps were right around 80, i took the truck for a drive...

    Rebuilt truck worth the price?

The best advice is go look at the truck you want to bid on, and if you can't do that then have a S.S. member who lives close by go look at it for you. Doing it this way will give you some piece of mind before you bid.

    Manual needed

What's the reason why you need the older versions of the TM's?

No More Water Pump Leaks When Tightening The Fan Belts

dogbone, that's the funny thing about the web, i find a web site on pulleys that says my design in the right place, and you come back and say its not. I think at this point the only thing you and i are gong to agree on, is that we disagree, and leave it at that.

No More Water Pump Leaks When Tightening The Fan Belts

Doghead, after doing some research on the drive side and the slack side of the belts it looks like you were mistaken. I do have the idler mounted on the slack side. Please see diagram. looking from the front of the engine, D1 in the diagram being the water pump and D2 being the fuel pump and...

Air Leaking From NHC250 Fan Drive Clutch Actuator

I took my M925 for a test drive today, when i got back i noticed a big air leak. After stopping the engine the secondary air gauge was losing pressure fast. Upon opening the hood i found air leaking out of the front of the fan drive clutch actuator. So can i take the actuator apart and rebuild...
