    Tunnel clearance question

You'll have room when it comes to the trans, as it isn't super tight against the tunnel. The fuel tank is pretty damn close to the tunnel. Iirc I think it's about 3/4" between the top of the tank and tunnel, maybe a little closer.

Sound deadening, sound proofing - which have you done and what are your results?

All I know is my truck doesn't have insulation in it, just bed liner sprayed in the entire tub. It's pretty damn loud, especially above 55mph.

    AWOLs 1997 M1097A2 Build

Yup, stock 4 speed truck. It maintains 70mph pretty easy. The only time it needs to work a little hard is when the hills start. Even then, it's not bad.

    AWOLs 1997 M1097A2 Build

Windows tinted! I wanted to go with 20% all around, but all I had left was 5% and 35%. I bitched out and did 35% all around. I guess it's not a huge deal, as the sunset around here is getting closer to 5pm now, and will end up damn near almost 4pm soon enough. So it'll be easier to see out of in...

Did front brakes today. Whoever decided to place the drivers side front caliper where it is, needs a swift kick to the dick.

Every single one. Still has slightly positive camber, but it's soooo much better.

Mine also had 3 shims per bracket. Fortunately all mine were able to be removed downward, so I only had to loosen the bracket bolts, not remove them entirely.

    AWOLs 1997 M1097A2 Build

Alignment day. Just for reference, the shims on the upper control arms were decently thick. I took a pic with my micrometer. As for the tires. They were toe out 3" overall. The measurements before aligning it were 87" rear, 90" front. lol Now they're set at 88 1/2" front, and 88 5/8" rear. I...

Pulled the rear shims out of the upper control arms today. That was fun. The rear most upper arm brackets are a PITA to get to. Up next is a homemade alignment.

Laying down some primer and base coat. The doors are pretty straight right out of the box. One had a gouge in it from shipping, but that was easily filler and blocked smooth. I will say, they have been a nightmare for fish eyes. It must be the release agent used when building the doors. I chased...

    Train Wreck

I wish a nice, fully armored turbo truck would fall off a train around here. I could help it disappear for them.

    How Hot Is Too Hot?

Mine bounces between 200° - 220° with the fan cycling on and off. Doesn't seem to matter if it's 95° outside or below freezing.

    Fiberglass X Doors

They look decent. The inside of the door definitely looks different from originals, or the reproduction ones from West Kentucky Surplus. Seller claims they weigh 400lbs on a pallet. Mine were 280lbs on a pallet. So unless he's packing the doors full of lead, his weight is off.

    Stanadyne DB2 rebuild

When started, it just idles. My idle speed doesn't change depending on temperature.

    Stanadyne DB2 rebuild

My truck came out of GA. The tank was full of water and sludge. The IP was filled with it too. Here's what mine looked like before I gave it a good cleaning.

    AWOLs 1997 M1097A2 Build

So, got in a new set of doors from West Kentucky Surplus. They arrived in about a week, and were packed well and arrived safe and sound. Took about a day to install them, just taking my time and screwing around. I started by taking the door and holding it up on the truck, and setting the gaps...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately
