Wheel seals can go bad and leak for a number of reasons.
1 old age- sealing surface rubber wear out
2 in proper installation
3 wheel bearings wearing out and get loose
4 hub cap plug vent clogged
I have never heard a wheel seal go bad- if you hear bearing going bad you got a real severe...
I know the thought is intimidating, but the reality is you need to find the leak- that is the best remedy not to add more parts to maintain and still have to fix the leak anyways. Take the fuel line off of the fuel tank and find a way to pressurize it with 3-5 lbs. Find the defect and take...
You also need to familiarize yourself with the chemical properties of acid/base and also where in the numeric scale is neutral is - for your own knowledge to understand what's happening inside your engine. From what you described a through flush and refill with coolant is what is needed.
Also it...

I think you have fuel system issues that need repair, it is not normal for diesel engines to loose their prime due to non-use- I would predict find and repair the defects and it should start without any problems and stay away from Bio-blend fuels when you are going to have an extended period of...
I was looking at the last auction and was not in tune with the procedures, shame on me. I missed a couple that i wanted to buy. Do any of you have any MEP 831A for sale or direct me to someone who does?
thanks-pete
yes, that's the one- I wanted to try to quiet it up by adding a nice sized muffler but between the size, weight and the initial operating noise I decided to let it move on
Qestion for you genset guys- I am thinking of buying a MEP 831A or a MEP 701A and have some questions-

current pricing on both?
it has been a while since I looked at Gov Liquidation- is it going away? Now Gov Planet?

Yes, the 4L80E did bolt right up to the 6.2- however the M1028A is equipped with a NP205 transfer case, part of the adapter plate is the front portion of the case and has a slightly larger locating ring where it mounts to the transmission- bolt pattern is the same, the ring is about 1/16 th of...
here you guys go!
bought a freshly rebuilt trans that had 1000 miles on it for $600,
TCI controller for $550
TCI - TSP for $150
drive shaft work $310
since I was too much to do this in my drive way I paid a guy who has a shop with a lift and all the cool guy tools $800 - he let me help and...
I recently installed a 4L80E into my M1028A with no difficulties- things that required changes were-
lengthen the front drive shaft by 1+1/2 inches
shorten the rear drive shaft by 1+1/2 inches
re position the frame mounted shifting lever
adjust the cooling lines
drill new holes for the rear...
also check voltage between both batteries if your starter is 24 volt- there is a small jumper type cable that connects the batteries in series to provide 24 volts for the starter - sometimes you will loose starting voltage but everything else works if that cable gets loose or if the connections...
TedO, sorry to hear about your neighbor problems- you are not alone!
back to your problem- you need to confirm your glow plugs are powered by 24 volts. If so, you need to understand the design is to get 110 % performance out of them- the system is designed to use 12 glow plugs and to run all 8...
