Another way to lower an M1101/M1102

Yes, I like the hand brakes, so I kept them. I used the following backing plates: http://www.etrailer.com/p-23-112.html http://www.etrailer.com/p-23-113.html The new hand brake connection is external, where the military ones were internal, so some modification will be required. I will...

Another way to lower an M1101/M1102

I used this thread to lower mine over the weekend. I also did a hub/brake swap.

Another way to lower an M1101/M1102

Would you have the part number for the 6 lug hubs handy? I could never figure out which ones to order.

    M1102 Military to Civilian Conversion

There were 8 lug hubs that seemed to fit in my search. I was using the bearing numbers I found when I searched this site. I never pulled the hub on mine to confirm. What I found from searching was inner bearing = 25580, outer = 14125A. I would confirm these before ordering parts though.

    m1101 question and information.

Grote makes LED military trailer tail lights that are both 12 & 24 volt. I run them on my expedition trailer setup. They are a bit pricey though.

    M1102 Military to Civilian Conversion

I also looked into replacing the surge brake actuator with something like this, but swapping in a different set of tires was cheaper.

    M1102 Military to Civilian Conversion

It might stick out 3 inches per side or something. Enough so that you know it is there in the mirrors. The M101 is probably a better fit, but I really like the design of the M1101/2 trailers.

    M1102 Military to Civilian Conversion

I have a smaller expedition type trailer (M416 sized). However, in order to use it for cargo I have to remove the RTT. This spring & summer we will be doing some home improvements & a bit of camping. That would add up to quite a bit on and off scenarios. I started looking at M1101/2s as a...

Gov holding sales of M1101 & 1102 trailers in Texas ??

I was able to pick mine up this morning. I like the trucking center location. Much easier than the sites on the military bases.

Gov holding sales of M1101 & 1102 trailers in Texas ??

Thanks for the feedback. I think the worst thing that will happen is that we get a refund. They probably have an inventory of these that will soon be available, so I sent GL a note saying I would wait or they could substitute a similar item (M1011 or M1102).

Gov holding sales of M1101 & 1102 trailers in Texas ??

GL M1102 Fiasco We will be doing a bunch of home improvement stuff this year, so I wanted a larger trailer. I got the high bid on an M1102 about a month ago. It was just what I was looking for. Tan, close to home, no cover, & seems to be in great condition. The EUC went through & Government...

Need Help With a Trailer ID

I actually ended up selling this off a few months back. I was going to turn it into a flatbed, but was already working on another trailer. Since it came with 2 sets of taillights I kept the multi voltage LED military ones for my other project...

Need Help With a Trailer ID

Dexter got back to me. The axle has a capacity of 6000lbs.

Need Help With a Trailer ID

There was no data plate. They had a few others, I did not see a plate on any of those either. It did have what I guess is a manufacturers plate: "Superior Communications Solutions" from somewhere in Georgia. I still have to look into that. It has a Dexter axle. I emailed them the serial...

Need Help With a Trailer ID

EUC came through & I picked this up today. It had a civi 4 pin setup for one set of lights. Tires are brand new. The tank is huge! It seems to be bolted in though. The electric brakes seem to just be part of a breakaway system. I still need to check it over to see if they work though...

Need Help With a Trailer ID

I was thinking of turning it into an expedition type trailer. However, I am not real sure on the dimensions. If it turns out to be too much work to modify, then I will just sell it and look for something else. Basically it looked cool & the price was right, so I took a chance. I will keep...

Need Help With a Trailer ID

I got one of the ones from the Hooks auction. They seemed to have some cool features, but the info GL posted was sketchy. There were not any data plates on any of them. I am guessing that it weighs 1000-1200 or so. I am over in Sunnyvale (near Mesquite).

    No, that was missing too.

Need Help With a Trailer ID

I bought one of these off GL. Still waiting on the EUC paperwork, but I am trying to find out more about it. It looks like a generator trailer with a built in fuel tank. It also looks like it may have electric brakes (I can see the break away box) & an interesting folding tongue. GL did...
