This vehicle is at a car lot approximately 500 miles away from me. I asked the salesman for the vin # and that is what he read out to me. I repeated that # and he said it was correct. This HMMWV is being advertised as a 1985. Attached are a few photos, not sure if they will help.

We used to have an airshow up here in central BC, Canada and we had B-17 Texas Raiders here. The following year we had B-17 Sentimental Journey. Sentitimental Journey was accompanied by a He111. I will try to find some photos. These aircraft were here in the mid 90's...
No need to appologize, I appreciate your insight on this topic. Thanks for sharing. Could'nt those engines be brought up from the bottom of that lake, or is it not cost effective? You would think they would be salvaged as I'm sure they are very rare.
Yes there was a flight of P-38's and a B-17 who all belly landed on the ice caps. One P-38 was recovered, restored and now flies again. She is appropriately named "Glacier Girl".
