Ouch! Yeah, I was having some issues with the machine and a "Professional" had already cut it and welded it before.... but really mangled it. I am planning to grind it down and take a second pass.
With the 52inch front springs any driveshaft I pull will be too short, so Im better off to make...
I have number 10, so I need to track down or build number 9. One of my next projects is going to be upgrading my CJ from the 4.2L with vbelts to a 4.0 with serpentine belts, Im thinking I can build part number 9 out of the power steering pump bracket I take off of the Jeep.
I dont know...
My M1009 hyper compressed the front driveshaft and broke the CV, causing a hell of an ugly clunk sound when in 4wd. I took it apart, shortened the shaft, but Im having trouble understanding how this CV goes back together and I would love some help. And yes, I tried to check the TMs and...
I do not have a lower bracket. I was planning to look into that more after I get it back together.
This 6.2 is really tired and not great, so I'm hoping that spring 2021 I can swap a 6.5 with a serpentine belt which is part of why I couldn't justify $150 bracket. =p If I get another year out...
Well, got it fixed. It was not elegant or pretty but that poor bracket looks like it has been welded back together a dozen times. Today I'll finish tightening belts and then hopefully it will be leaving the garage.
You all have been really helpful. I'll post photos of this mangled bracket...
Well, I borrowed a stud from the intake manifold where it was just acting as a bolt, replaced it with a bolt, put the stud back in place of the broken one, and started to put it back together when I saw that the power steering bracket is a bit mangled.
So, original problem solved. Now to...
So, there are two studs in the photo and one of them is broken off, that's the one that the power steering pump pivots on. Now that I think about it though, I'm not sure at all what the other stud is attached to. I know I didn't take anything of it yesterday during disassembly.
I'm going to go...
Hey all, I broke one of the studs used for tensioning the power steering pump. Since I know our belt drives are different than civilian trucks I am not sure if the dealership will know the particular stud I need and be able to get it for me without a part number.
Any help would be great.
So, I took my M1009 on a few trips this year and had a blast but the smoke has really taken some fun out of things. It only smokes on the driver's side, but it's pretty bad and parking too close to human people who enjoy breathing is ”rude.”
I had been told it was likely a bad injector, but...
Well, got it apart! A 10,000lb ratchet strap and a three foot pry bar to get it tight enough and it went in easier than I'd expected.
Ordering the oring 9452K451 from McMaster.
Picking up the nuts this week
Some light rust between the two parts of the wheel, going to clean that up and paint...
[I didn't see a tire forum, wasn't sure if this belonged in the Cucv forum or the hmmwv forum]
Hey y'all. Finished the axle swap and 52 inch spring conversion on my M1009, got the 37s on, and first trip out it split a sidewall going up a hill. I've gotten another matching tire, tried to do some...
Yeah, while doing this one I kept thinking, ”this would be much easier with an inch or two of body lift!”
At work all the trucks have a hinged door above the fuel tank for this stuff.
Well, busy week and havn't been out in the shop much. Tonight I started by checking the hoses on the top of the tank and found that I had kinked the fuel supply line. Cut it to the correct length, got it installed correctly and unkinked.
Little work purging the fuel system and it's running now...
Our miscommunication I believe, is that you are picturing me removing the rubber hose from the fuel pump. I removed it from the Hardline.
At the fuel pump there is a short section of rubber line, it was easier to remove [from the top] the hose from the hard line that runs back to the tank then...
Yup, pulled the rubber off the hard-line, put some air to it, fuel came out of the filter bleeder effortlessly. Pressurised the tank and nothing came out of the hard line at the pump.
I should have explained better o.o
Perfect, this morning I had a little bit of extra time and I was able to pull the hose off of the fuel pump, and I verified there's no obstruction between the fuel pump and the fuel filter.
Now I just need to find the obstruction between the tank and the pump. I do not believe it's the sock...
