    Bought a CUCV M1010 !

I regrettably have to sell or trade the Rogue Sea witch. I can't thank all of you enough for the wise words and kindness, this really is one of the best online forums and most respectful places on the internet. Here's a link to the Classified ad here on Steel Soldiers...

I'm glad to see you are daily driving the M1009 and taking care of the issues as they pop up. I love these old trucks and would like a Blazer too... always loved K5's growing up, and a diesel Blazer is even cooler!

San Francisco driving is so much stop and go and hills I'm not surprised its that bad, just disappointed. People often comment that I have a lot of nerve behind the wheel... I suppose driving a dump truck in Seattle for ten years landscaping didn't hurt. A rear view camera is on the to do...

Wow, somewhat disappointing results on the miles per gallon tracking on my M1010. It looks like I'm averaging 11mpg city driving, with some big hills mixed in because its unavoidable living in San Francisco. This is after two tanks to verify that I was correct. I was hoping it would be better.

Thats excellent. I believe you can fit a smart car in the back, based on the measurements.

My truck sees some big hills, but so far this tank has been relatively flat and mostly city. I used to drive to the top of Nob Hill to drop my fiance off for work and pick her up all the time, one of the steepst grades in the city. here's my truck out of fuel right after backing down Taylor...

how hard do you drive it

I'll get up to 70 in my M1010 with 3.73 gears and 235/85r16 tires. (31") no tach, it will go faste r but feels a little fast for this truck and its front end.

I just took my first mileage reading on the last fill up. Looking forward to seeing what my ambulance gets now that my fuel gauge works and the speedo is corrected.

    Dash lights M1009

I wish I'd seen this a while ago, brighter lights would be nice.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Had a lot of work done on the truck since the last time I've posted. Dando's Automotive in Fremont Ca, as per Tim's (tim292stro) excellent recommendation, has done outstanding and meticulous work. (sorry, I did not do the work myself... I am not much of a mechanic and have been putting all my...

    Bought a CUCV M1010 !

Problem loading photos (solved!) I originally saved the jpg files way too large, so only a small portion of the photos would load (i guess only the ones that were small enough files), I still had a bunch of shots of the new work that has been done on the truck that I couldn't get the forum's...

Looks like little by little the M1009 is coming along nicely! Keep up the good work.

    Bought a CUCV M1010 !

I'm hoping I'll find someone on here who doesn't care abut the one tons as much as having highway gears, and I would be able to trade my axles and give them some cash to make up the difference in value. I think I'm going to post to classifieds and see what happens. Thanks for the link, I...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Murphy's Law in action! Just now I picked up my spare tire off the ground and put it in the back of the truck. As I was leaving FedEx (I feel the need to interject just how upset I already was at this very moment about the ridiculous hassle I was given at Fed Ex when I tried paying in cash...

He definitely knew about it, and I wish I had a better memory and our original emails to prove what was said for my peace of mind.

    Bought a CUCV M1010 !

I'm in the middle of discussing it with him via text message. I no longer have copies of our original discussion. He claims to have let me know the axles were from a 3/4 ton and had been replaced. I feel like I remember him saying that they were the original axles desired by rock crawlers.
