I ran a M54A2 with 1600x20 XZLs on the beach on CapeCod MA. The sand was very fine and soft. On flat ground I could run 25lbs in the rear and 40 lbs up front with no wheel hop. If we went out to the dunes and tried to go up the hills it would hop baddly. the only way to stop the hopping was to...
I have a set cf Nathan K5HL's on my M54a2.Have been on the truck for 3 years an never had any problems usiing them. If you don't do the stupid Utube stuff and use common sense there fun. Most people who see them ask to here them and love the sound. I have a manual trainhorn valve so the volume...
I put a set of trainhorns on my M54A2 front fender .The horns are controled by a manual trainhorn valve. With the valve you can control the volume from being able to use them in parades to being painful to your ears.I still have the stock airhorns on the truckbut never use them anymore. Mike
I have a M54a2 5 ton in MA registered as a camper.I did put a bed ,portapoddy, sink and grill in the back to be legal. Went to RMV and they ask if it had been converted and when I said yes they gave me the camper plates. I also had a camper permit for Nauset beach from the Town . Camper plates...
I should be out there in a 3 or 4 months [when my house is sold]. I already have my house in vegas waiting. I been playing with armytrucks for 26years and work on heavy equipment for a living. I would be happy to helpout when I get outthere Mike

Look for some rears from 1990 s macks [44000 lbs] that have bolt on shock mounts on the axles that look like they would bolt right on 5 ton axles. Mike
If you have the old type fittings they are very hard to get. I ended up cutting off the crimp and hose to reuse the fitting. Most truck or heavy equipment shop can make the hose up. I think the pto on the transfer case is always engauged and is lubed by a metal line to the bottom of the case...
I had a 246 that I put the Mack motor in and change the cab that had the same problem.I had to adjust that link to the valve to get the steering even both ways. I donot remenber how i did it [15 years ago ] but it did fix the trouble. Good luck Mike
I have a M54a2 with 1600 tires and I run 45lbs in the rears and 55 lbs in the front. Much nicer ride and no issures with heat on 4+hour trips. My first trip was at 85 lbs and we spent half the time in the air off the seat from the bumps [5 hours] not much fun. gGood luck Mike
I read somewhere that a Nathan K5 series horn is rated for 70 CFM at full flow.I have my stock airtanks and they work fine because you do not have to use them that long to get attention. My air system is set for 120 psi and the horns will work at 60 psi. I can blow the rail crossing signal...
Thats why I have a manual valve, so I can control the volume. I do use them in parades carefully watching for small kids. the trainhorn can be quieter than the stock horn with the valve slightly pulled and have talked to people after the parade and they say the horns where not to loud and have...
