    I'm sure but waaaaaay cheaper than an earth roamer. Those are beautiful trucks but don't have close to that kind of budget. I figure I can buy one from auction reasonably and buy some sort of trailer to make a custom type camper for about $50k

    No. Just trying to figure out which is the best route to go between the 6x6 and 4x4 version. Price is a big part also. The prices seem vary greatly.

    Yes that would be nice to keep it. I can't seem to find any specs on the height from the ground to the top of the frame rails. Thanks again for the info.

    I'm looking in to purchasing a Stewart and Stevenson of some kind. I'd like to get a 6x6 to build a custom toy hauler/camper out of. So I guess I'm looking for a 1083/1088/1089. The longer chassis would be helpful but it seems there is a cooler of some kind mounted behind the spare tire carrier...
