I do understand that, but I highly doubt it would happen because they are being drivrn on the road. Don't get me wrong, it *could* happen and I would be shocked if it did, but it won't...unless extreme circumstances call for it. As long as they are making money off the sales and they aren't...
Gotcha. Regardless of my poor example, the point is that the NHTSA concluded that these are in fact "motor vehicles" manufactured primarily for use on public streets, roads, and highways, and that's important when faced with the "made for off-road only use" excuse.
Different translation, but not faulty. You could be right in your translation (and probably are, because that's how I actually read it), but that's the point. This particular part could be left to reasonable translation too.
That's definitely one way too look at it.
I based my point on overall use. I see where that example could be flawed, but correct me if I'm wrong, but based on your thinking, it would be inaccurate to say that the Jeep was made to be used 100% of the time on primary and seconday roads when it...
Although this is true, you're only acknowledgingthat the vehicle is "not roadworthy and agrees that the Humvee is for off-highway use only."
What happens when the vehicle "becomes" road worthy? I say that in quotations because these are technically road worthy vehicles to start with.
Of...
Here are some of facts that everyone should know regarding the M998...especially regarding the questions of how "they" (whomever they may be) can get away with selling/titling/whatever-Federal/local-law-you-might-think-is-being-broken, and a few other important things to remember. Oh, and I...
Why is it taking so long for some people to get their EUCs cleared? My most recent Humvee (my 3rd one) only took 23 days from the date of purchase to my EUC being approved. The one before that only took 24 days, and my very first one only took 37 days.
I'm inclined to think that the EUC process...
Hello all, after basically a month wait on my first EUC to clear, my second time cleared in less than a month. Purchase 10/14, "sent" 10/23, @TSC on 11/6 and approved on 11/10.
GovPlanet has been on point when helping me, so I have nothing but praise for them!
Good luck all!
1. 2-mans generally go for less than your 4-mans.
2. You can convert to a 4 man fairly easily.
3. I like the utility of having a pick-up truck when needed by just taking the cargo top and troop seats off. (I keep the top off anyway).
I'll start with this: Pay attention to inspection report - read all of it! Most importantly, PAY ATTENTION TO THE PICTURES!!! DETAILS DETAILS DETAILS. The pictures tell a much better story than the inspection report sometimes. Also, if you have the opportunity to inspect it first hand, then by...
Perhaps "Option 3"?
First, I just received my Humvee this past Thursday and had to Jump it...and all I had around was my Jeep Wrangler to do it.
Ended up being pretty easy to do. Used a multi-meter (oHms meter) to see which battery was the weakest and hooked the Jeep up to only that battery...
It shows the credit on my updated invoice. Plus I received an email from the gentleman that helped me which stated the credit. If there is ever a question of it, I have proof.
I just spoke to a GP rep on Tuesday and he said that they are revamping the title process in hopes of cutting down the wait time, but in the mean time have put a hold on all titles for about 2 additional weeks. I ended up cancelling my Florida title since the process for it hadn't been started...
Doesn't sound right. I was just approved on the 1st and it shows my dates as:
9/14/15 Last Day to Pickup without incurring storage charges
9/16/15 IronClad Assurance Buyer Protection period Expired
Hello all. Newbie to the forum, but have been watching this thread since I purchased my HV back in July.
After reading all these EUC horror stories, and as a first time buyer, I decided to email the DLA directly and simply ask what the process was, what to expect, if there was an automated way...
Hi all,
I'm a noob to the site, but have been following this thread since I made my purchase for a Humvee on 7/22/15. This is also my first time through the EUC process.
On 08/02/15 my EUC was submitted to TSC ("pending approval" purgatory). After hearing horror stories on this thread, I sent...
