HMMWV seat upgrade with M977 HEMTT 4-point or 5-point seats ?

I didn't get a chance to try either one. A lot of them came and went at GL, by time I decided what I was going to buy there were no more available, I began searching for manufacturers of aftermarket seats and found tons of options if I buy new seats. Some are probably more affordable than buying...

new M998 owner, ignition trouble, wait light never comes on, engine won't start

For the record, and for happy conclusion, it was a bad control box that GovPlanet replaced since the 'wait' light came on prior to GovPlanet jumping the HMMWV in order to drive it onto the trailer I sent to pick it up. They accidentally blew the controller when jumping it. For good measure, I...

HMMWV brakes - no pedal pressure at all, pedal to floor, then SPLAT!

Somehow you made me happy that I have caliper trouble. I'm glad it's only the calipers at this point, sounds like you needed an octopus to assist you with that output seal job!

HMMWV brakes - no pedal pressure at all, pedal to floor, then SPLAT!

Thanks for the added details, then that makes perfect sense, it was the front reservoir that was empty (back brake is bad), What would a project be without surprises. The willpower grows stronger! Must resurrect this beast.

Dangit, another distraction... now I've got to run a lab experiment before I get back to my brakes, you sparked my curiosity! :burn::burn::burn:

HMMWV brakes - no pedal pressure at all, pedal to floor, then SPLAT!

Thank you Colonel. True, I guess it will be easier to work on now that's it's dry. By keeping pool shock away are you referring to that chlorine powder put into swimming pools? Does that make for some interesting chemistry if pool shock mixes with brake fluid?

HMMWV brakes - no pedal pressure at all, pedal to floor, then SPLAT!

Thank you porksplace, wealth of info there. I'll read through that manual, looks like there are great schematics throughout.

HMMWV brakes - no pedal pressure at all, pedal to floor, then SPLAT!

Ok, so maybe that explains why one-half of the master cylinder reservoir was empty... it had mostly leaked out before I got the vehicle. I'll check the lines. Are there any special tools or dissambly to get at the caliper's hydraulic cylinder ? And thank you very much for the feedback !

HMMWV brakes - no pedal pressure at all, pedal to floor, then SPLAT!

I purchased a used 1994 M998A1 HMMWV from GovPlanet, got the engine running well this winter and was ready to take first spring test drive. Couldn't wait to finally drive it and enjoy the nice spring day. But I noticed that the brake pedal pretty much went to the floor without any resistance...

Has anyone installed the older MRAP style high back seats or the HEMTT seats in their HMMWV? Would be especially interested in anyone's suggestions about upgrading the rear seats in an m998 to high back seats. Thanks!

HMMWV seat upgrade with M977 HEMTT 4-point or 5-point seats ?

Yes, it's really the cadillac seat from all appearances, what a shame it won't fit the HMMWV, anyone have knowledge of the second seat pic that I posted, the 4-point seat in green?

HMMWV seat upgrade with M977 HEMTT 4-point or 5-point seats ?

I want to upgrade the safety and comfort of my 1994 M998A1 HMMWV with some better high back seats. Especially because I plan on doing a lot of driving with my 11 and 13 year olds in the back seats. I found a deal on two different models of seats that come out of the M977 HEMTT cargo...

new M998 owner, ignition trouble, wait light never comes on, engine won't start

I checked the TM-20 document that was suggested but I can't find what the proper resistance level is for checking glow plugs, do you know the OHM value I should be looking for? Thanks again!

Thank you, this is great stuff. Can you suggest a type of tester to purchase, and what ohm rating are you looking for on the glow plugs?

new M998 owner, ignition trouble, wait light never comes on, engine won't start

This is great info.... but what type of tester should I be using to test the glow plugs? I'm a nube to Diesel, spent a lot of time rebuilding gas engines of all types, but not familiar with glow plugs yet so I appreciate your helpful feedback.

Best way to charge or jump start HMMWV ?

Nice setup. I do have two deep-cycle 12 v marine batteries wired up in series for 24 v. I wanted to add a NATO cable... but... darn expensive on Ebay!

Best way to charge or jump start HMMWV ?

Ah! Amazon didn't display the products separately, it brought up the 7200 with a checkbox for the different amp rating. Thank you for clarifying that!
