Going to troubleshoot my KDS CR2696. Pulled the cannon plug off and there's only five pin connectors and #6 is empty? Glow plug controller did test bad. The cannon plug showed continuity. Was the harness changed at rebuild facility for upgrading the box circuit? 1990 M998.

I have the same box. Does the same thing. I believe I read in the TM this is what you should see every time you initiate start regardless of engine temp status. There appears to be fewer flashes on mine when warm. I'm not concerned.
How about we contribute our time to supporting local needs, neighbors in need, etc, when we are not staying home to help flatten the infection curve?

Go with the upgraded fuel level unit. You will have to eventually anyway. Their are TM's onsite here that will give you part numbers. That part of the forum shoul;d become your second home. BTW how you registering it in Commiefornia.
