Oops, yeah I forgot my first step.
First I used Firefoam to block all empty spaces in the cab. I started with Firefoam, so I used throughout, although regular void foam probably works the same. Used a surprisingly large amount too, lots of voids in the roof and rear wall. I also filled the...
What would the size be for the flex a lite electric fan kit? If you are working on the fan and air clutch, it'd be a worthwhile time to do the switch.

I may have gone overboard... But I did the following:
4 coats of noise and heat paint on interior of cab and underside of body.
Noico 50mil sound barrier to all interior of cab
High Heat barrier 70 mill to underside of body over engine and engine hump
Noico 80 mil over the first layer in...
I have this issue as well. I'm never on a computer, so I never see the photo url in my or anyone else's post, unless I'm not logged into SS with my user name (in which case I can't edit the post accordingly). I wish tapatalk had a way around this. It's a bummer since it's easy to use and snap...
If anyone has Instagram there are a few who have done this. I've messaged them to see if they have builds posted or websites, but none have so far. Search for 'slicknessindustries'. He has what he calls the dragon wagon, which he did this. Another is "yabanja". Took a hi lo and converted it to...
Do you know the title of the thread? When I search for forum name nothing comes up.
Definitely want to read up before looking to purchase. I had heard the mrap aluminum rims won't fit on a 5ton fmtv. Using longer studs and lugs is new to me.
Thought it had to be a 5 Ton aluminum rim...
Can you give an update to how you are liking the aluminum rims vs original? Do you have high speed gears as well?
Im interested in switching to aluminum.

I'm a novice at this. Didn't think about that. I only have a 6 gallon tank with me, but it'd be easier than engine starting. Not sure how to charge the system externally

For the next 8 months I'll be working on the truck in a metal shop that's 14 ft wide, 20 long. I'd like to disable it so when I start truck truck it's not incredibly loud when I'm not going anywhere

It only takes about 20 seconds to build the pressure, but it sure is annoying. Was hoping for a quick way to unplug. Will do some googling...man I wish it were still broken.

Something I did recently caused my low air alarm to start working again. I had hoped it had been removed / disabled in the field, but after nearly ****ting my pants in a closed metal rv storage unit upon start up, I've somehow caused it to work again. It was the first time I've ever heard it...
There's an ltas a1p2 cab for sale on the big auction site for a pretty penny (or several). Bought straight from SS in Sealy from bankruptcy.
I'll be interested in seeing the cab switch!

I kind of took this approach. Just cut the head off for now. It was getting in the way of progress. I'll have to replace with push pin style later. Truck will stay parked for a while.
