There is a thumbscrew on the pump run solenoid that defeats the electric solenoid. Just screw it in and it should run forever if an electrical problem is occuring.

Unplug the wire going to the transmission to see if it shifts. The downshift is electric, if the switch is shorted it will cause that symptom.

Two of them were just sold in Western Washington, I don't remember where they went. The two I know of were used in the movie "In the army now". Terrible movie with Pauly Shore, they were the Scud Missile launchers. I did not know there were anymore left. They were built by Boeing.
