Lot of spare parts for M151, Fuel Caps, Shifter rubbers,...

I can buy a lot of spare parts for M151. Don't have one myself but possibly this lot of parts will go into the trash if I don't go for it. I do NOT have an M151 but thinking of those who do or may have an interest in parts for the M151,. I could purchase this lot and send what you need at cost...

    What is causing white smoke???

I realize this is an old tread, but I was having white smoke as well... tried adjusting timing in both directions, advance and even retard. That helped some but engine keeps rough and has a noisy idle and had quite significant crankcase fumes / pressure. Engine always starts easy, so never...

GM 6.2 and 6.5 injection advance settings

Hi all, Been fiddeling with the advance of my IP. My 1985 M1009 has a DB2-829-4879 which is said to be 1.2cSt specific. This pump was only released in 1990 and specifcally for HMMWV, so is definitely not the original on my 6.2. I have been advancing the timing from line thikness all the way to...

GM 6.2 and 6.5 injection advance settings

Hi, And thank you! Curious to hear whereabouts the sweet spot on your truck may be... I would guesstimate, using the piezo sensor on injector #1 fuel line and a timing light, it will flash between 10 and 14 degrees BTDC... ? Best, Jake

GM 6.2 and 6.5 injection advance settings

    * correction made for camshaft and crankshaft degrees, the latter being double!! Hi, Been searching for some clear and exact data on the injection advance settings for our 6.2 (and 6.5) diesel engines and haven't been able to find anything clarifying, other than"GM never published any advance...

    6.2 Pulse timing?

Hi Doghead, I realize this posting is old, but I have a question about the Kent-Moore Tach N Time J 33300 A. I am not sure if my Magnetic Probe works properly, as the values really move all over the place... anywhere from 2.3 degrees to 48 degrees... Fluctuation is hefty... Should the...

    6.2 Pulse timing?

Hi Welpro, Sorry for the "late reply", but from the figures I see on the little check card that comes with the Tach N Time, it appears that the transducer (pulse sensor) gets the injection signal about 8 degrees before the luminosity probe "sees" the ignition in the combustion chamber. Given...

    6.2 Pulse timing?

Hi Jersey, You wrote: " The line on the timing cover and IP are only for reference for the factory installed IP on that engine. It will not match if a different pump is installed." Does this statement still stand? Confirmed? Anyone who can clarify on this please? Judging by my IP Model...

How to find the Unit where my CUCV M1009 was originally or last assigned?

Hi guys, I heard there are several threads on this subject and seaerched, but probably used the wrong search wods and came out empty... pointers welcome!! Unfortunately I have no DoD paperwork or anything alike with my M1009. The VIN is about the best reference I have... or perhaps the tag on...

How to find the Unit where my CUCV M1009 was originally or last assigned?

Hi all, I heard there is someone in the forum who can provide information about the unit where our CUCV was assigned to during it's military use, based on the VIN, bu I have not been able to find this posting. Can anyone point me in the right direction please? Late but Merry Christmas and a...

    Gen 1 Dash Light

Thank you Tow4! Maybe I have the wrong dash bulbs in the dash and also for Alt 1. Would that cause the light on perhaps? Alt 1 should have bulb 168 and Alt 2 takes a 194, from what I can gather here. These bulbs do not exist in Europe but are available as 12V either in 5W or as 10W bulb, so...

    Harmonic Balancer replacement

Hey Blackjack, Just checked my Fluidamper, which was still in the card board box, to check the contents. This is item # FLD-800191. This item fits for both GM 6.5 and 6.2 diesel engines and contains the damper with an extra spacer. If you have this # Fluidamper, check the box. The Fluidamper...

    Gen 1 Dash Light

My '85 does the exact same thing, for about 10-15 seconds. When I slightly increase RPM, then Alt 1 light goes out immediately!! Indicating...? Weak or failing alternator? Jake

Template to make DIY front wheel house panel side splash shield left and right

Hi, Just wondering as this item can no longer be found anywhere overhere, and even if, then hugely overpriced for a pair of badly damaged ones and thus I would like to cut my own in genuine good quality thick reinfoced rubber. Does anyone have a template or drawing with measurements of the...

Normal For M1009 To Smoke Under Load?

Not intended to re-lauch this debate, but the "older diesel engines" where conceived to work with the formerly high sulfer diesel fuels, which are a lot "greasier" than today's ULS diesel fuels. I do remember diesel fuel really being a lot greasier back then... we would smear it on metal parts...

    New LMC Diesel Gauges

Hey Buck69, If you plan to use the MPH gauge on your truck, that Km/h gauge may interest me as that is what we use here predominantly... Cheers, Jake

    Lift kit for M1009

6years late in reading this... apology, but can't read it all! Regret to say that re-arching leaf springs is definitely a skill which is not available anywhere in Europe... when it comes to anything even touching on customizing or upgrading vehicles, Europe is really not the place to be... if...

    Rebuilt Steering Box

It was my first time as well doing a Saginaw rebuild and it is actually easy and I really enjoyed it. The one thing to watch out for is the white teflon seal on the piston as it may be easily damaged when forcing the piston int the housing... follow the recommendations as shown in the pictures...
