    MANGUS580, Yes you are very correct to use 2 -6 volt batteries, those will supply much much more amps hours than 2- 12 volt batteries! I will be using deep cycle batteries from interstate!

    Well, maybe a 5000 btu would be better for you? Not too hot or not too cold??? it's worth experimenting with that rather then running a generator all night or draining your batteries, right? You might want to install a thermostat in that unit???? good luck!

    tire clearance to propane tank compartments to srodocker, I backed the truck up on a steep berm until the rear drive axle was completely against the frame rubber snubbers. I had at least 2-1/2" inches clearance to the propane compartments. I think this will give me room for my tire chains...
