Drove to work in the rain yesterday, which was much more sporty given the wiper blade isn't touching the glass in the middle which puts an unwiped streak at eye level... and it's dark out.
After work it was still raining, so went straight to the O'rielly auto parts store in town...
I'm usually disappointed by walmart wiper blades - they never seem to include the bayonet style connector. So I ordered from Rockuto and guess what, no connector.
Why do the simple things have to be so hard.
WalMart had the GoodYear Wrangler Authority tires for $135 each a few months back. Since I was running the studded snow tires anyway, I back-burnered the summer tires for the time being. That was a mistake, as the price has since jumped to $150 per. Ouch.
The snow wheels are later model...
Try to keep this brief:
Last year bought a great used set of studded snow tires. Heard some rubbing but no big deal
Today it was time to put them on again. The wheels are 16" chrome-ish steel from a later model chevy pickup.
Today while it was lifted I spun the wheel and heard the...
Details!
How much paint of each color did you use?
Sprayed on? Using? If so, did you spray the cammo too or brush on those colors?
I was hoping to do mine this summer but couldn't get to it while it was still dry. Maybe next summer!
Tackled the heater core today.
The new one was not as thick as the old one, but was making appreciable heat once the truck warmed up.
I was surprised there's so many gaps in the duct work, it sort of guides the air to where you want it, but certainly not compulsory.
Here's the old one.
Ordered the core just now. NAPA has it for $50 and RockAuto has it for $42. I was going to go NAPA since they're local but their projected delivery date was later; so why spend more?
Windshield fogging up on defrost.... slight coolant smell.....
Might be time to have a look at the heater core.
How much work is involved in getting at that thing? Are new cores even available?
I was walking from my building to my parking spot (at work) last week, came around the corner and heard a diesel idling... man that sounds familiar....
Got close to the historic building they're remodeling (navy base) and saw a familiar cammo paint scheme.... what the... is someone messing with...
I did that thing I swore I'd never do again - I took the top off. I may regret it later but for now it's a hoot. Took it out for a spin to make sure nothing was going to fly up in my face and passed an early 70s full topless Blazer.
I used a jackstand laid on its side as an expedient wheel chock while working on my Grand Cherokee; hey the shape was right so why not.
Forgot about it and backed the jeep right over it. I didn't notice it other than a mild bump- the weight of the jeep pancaked it flat. I discovered...
My wipers start out slow initially, then come up to normal after two or three sweeps. The capacitors were disconnected years ago.
The park feature doesn't work either. If I clean the connections really well it'll work properly a few times then very shortly the wipers will stop wherever they...
Odometer passed 36,000 miles so it was time to change the oil again. While I was under there I noticed a loose bolt behind the filter. I crawled out and got a wrench and a light, but when I got back underneath I realized it wasn't just loose, but the threaded portion of the hole was broken...
