    M1078 Engine Fan Issue

I Got It! I decided to use a wheel/gear puller. The first one I found in my shop had two legs. Once I finally got it on and tightened it up one leg broke. Back in the shop I found a three legged puller. I attached it to the clutch plate and finally it came off fighting me all the way. Then...

    M1078 Engine Fan Issue

The plate hasn't moved. Today, I am going to look for a gear puller that will fit. I have about 6 pullers, but none of them fit right. I hope I can pull the plate loose. There isn't enough room to get a drill in between the radiator and the plate.

    M1078 Engine Fan Issue

I am referring to the very first plate you encounter when removing the fan/clutch assembly. It has to be removed before anything else. The military service manual calls it a "fan support plate". It is held on with 6 allen head screws. It is not inside or between anything. It could be called...

    M1078 Engine Fan Issue

Oh, Boy a problem. One allen head stripped out. Now the socket in the head is rounded out. No allen head wrench will fit into it. I have been trying to grab and unscrew it with vice grips, but it isn't working. Some of those allen head screws were very tight. Can I use a grinding wheel to...

    M1078 Engine Fan Issue

I will take the clutch off tomorrow afternoon. I am apprehensive about it. If I take out the six allen head screws does that remove the clutch? Isn't there a bolt in the center?

    M1078 Engine Fan Issue

My fan problem must be like that. I can move the edge of the fan forward and backward a good 3 inches. The fan also spins on the shaft with no air to the clutch. Darn. Where can I buy a new clutch and fan?

    M1078 Engine Fan Issue

The fan spins on the shaft with no air pressure. I see the six allen head screws that I believe hold the fan on.Guess I have to remove them. Didn't want to do that.

    M1078 Engine Fan Issue

My new truck has a fan problem that has me stumped. I have gone over the manuals again and again. I've got the parts memorized, but I ca't fix it. When I was driving it home at 50-54 MPH I heard a loud intermittent noise and vibration. Had to almost crawl home because it wouldn't happen at...
