That Thought was the first one to cross my anger clouded mind. I can't believe I didn't explode[ not a good idea on a military base]. I must be getting wiser with age.
No, for sure I wasn't going to take "whatever" even thogh she tried to push me I ended up with a 2006, 15.2 original hours on the clock. The original air filter is brand new. I don't have it off my truck yet to get a really good look at it plus I am still totally pissed off at the way I was...
Thanks for all the info. Unfortunately when I arrived at Fort Drum after a 5 hour drive they couldn't locate the generator so I ended up with a different machine with no winterization kit. I AM NOT HAPPY. I will be starting a new thread to describe what happened after I have contacted GL management.
I paid $2090 for my 2009 803A with the winterization kit and 3 hrs on the clock after a 2011 Reset. It came to just over $2500 with buyers premium and taxes. I'm picking it up on Tuesday. I wasn't being smart with the question marks. I didn't understand you question until the last reply came in.
Selling it would be the wise thing to do but once you have put the sweat equity into it and got it purring it is hard to part with it. I now have both a MEP831A and a MEP803A "parts machine" that are both in better shape than the original machines. I think I have MEP disease. I just love...
Thanks Mike, valuable information!!
By the way how the heck did you figure out which generator I bought? You must have way better GL search skills than I do.
What are your recommendations for trying to start a generator that has sat for 5 years and run only a couple hours on a brand new engine with break in oil in it once the routine maintenance is completed?
Thanks I downloaded the TM. At least now I know it is part of a Winterization kit. There isn't much on operation and repair I imagine they don't want the guy in the field to touch it.
Hi, I won an MEP803A at Fort Drum yesterday. It has a hose from the main rad hose to a black box and there is an extra toggle switch on the instrument panel labelled "engine _____" {I can't make out the second word in the photo}. I will try to upload a photo. I assume this is a cold weather kit...
