Oh, and the yoke was the correct one. I installed it today and seems to fit fine. Had to lathe down a socket though. Not a big fan of doing that.

CUCVRUS, is it for a gm 14 bolt? If so, then heck yeah! Went for round 2 today... FAIL. Carquest gave me the wrong crush sleeve. there goes another 2 quarts of gear oil.. I worked on the starter today too. Part of where it mounts to the block is broken (on the block itself.) Does anyone know if...

It is tweaked probably from bottoming out. I hate using rtv... so I would rather get a new pan than have to use rtv anytime I take the cover off.

Well, that was a waste of time and money... I need a new diff cover, the yoke I ordered just doesn't seem right, there was no preload on the yoke to begin with, gonna have to get a crush ring and shimms so I can rebuild the axle properly. Oh well, learned a few things. The new yoke wouldn't...

Well, I was told 4.10. I will verify that once I get my parts to fix the yoke.

But everything has to be removed from the chunk, right?

Renewed the steering box on mine... what a difference. While trying to fix a leak on the slip yoke, found the yoke out of the rear-end was broken. Got another on order. I ended up getting the U-bolt style. Has anyone done that with pulling apart the whole chunk to get the proper preload? I've...

The steering box brace is on the list. The electrical outlets are the distribution panel for the oil pan heater, transmission heater, and j/w heater. I'll look into the driveshaft angles, good observation. So, not the original axles? Interesting...

Thanks Twisted! I spent 6 years on the panhandle of Florida. Got tired of the heat, moved up here and never looked back. CUCVRUS: I was looking at the NAPA ones along with sending mine in for a rebuild from a "steering specialist." I am still figuring out what is "military" and what is normal...

What is the correct part number for the steering box, and what other vehicles can I use as a donor?

Just picked up an M1009. I'll be posting pictures soon. Doesn't look too converted from it's military config. There are some obvious things. Glow plug switch added/bypassed, missing an alternator, 4" lift with 37" military tires (HMMVW?) I will be trying to figure out how far I want "unconvert"...
