I loosened up the bolts quite a bit, but could not get the threads to line up. Will try again and hopefully it will get squared away. I appreciate the advice

Had some time to work on the lift pump, arthritis and a torn rotator cuff have kept me sidelined. Was able to get the pump bolted up but can not get the solid fuel line to connect. Any tips/ help would be appreciated

Do you guys recommend using RTV or just the paper gaskets ? I am getting in the garage tomorrow to install the correct pump if my arthritis isn’t too bad

I purchased one from LMC, and the other ( I believe the one with the spring) came from Hillbilly wizard, looking at the old one I cannot find a part number on it.

I also had a question regarding the lift pump rod, how far does it need to be inserted to know I don’t have to turn the motor to rotate the cam?

Had a chance to get into the garage today and remove the lift pump, after developing Tourette’s I was able to remove the old pump. I have removed the mounting plate as well due to the pump rod being firmly wedged against it. I was getting all the parts laid out to install And ran into something...

Also was able to get the fuel tank skid plate installed.

Had some time to have the bracket fabricated sandblasted primer and painter. I have the new filter installed and started plumbing it. The new filter is closer to 1/2 inch so I am using adapters to connect the lines to it.

I posted earlier that I had the skid plate sand blasted, primed and painted. I snapped the above pic and was about to install the skid plate when I realized that the bolts looked like crap, so I tossed them into the sand blast cabinet and painted them to match. I have installed the new fuel tank, fuel sending unit and replaced all associated rubber lines.

Well while I wait for parts to come in ( Was shipped the wrong sending unit twice ) I decided the skid plate need a little work. So I had it sandblasted, than primed and painted it.

The vent pipe that goes from the fuel tank to the filler neck is heavily rusted,can I just run straight hose instead?

Thank you Sir, My 11/16 deep socket seems to not want to sit all the way on the nut. At least on the rear side of the straps (bumper side) I will have another look in the morning.
