Yes I did make a mistake! And kept referring to it, instead of looking at the wire diagram.
I did just check the back of my A5 card and a solder strip on the back of the card was not good. I fixed it with solder and should work. The rest of the card looks great.
One more note. When I start the...
S9-1, pin C is what closes the K5. The S9, pins A&B are the start function. At a certain speed, S9-1 reverses, and sent 24 VDC from pin A to pin C of J-37. That's initial excitation. And that's what you are missing. The A11 only comes into play AFTER the initial excitation.
That was a wire diagram from Oshkosh? High speed. I agree that you need to call the tech support. But first you need to recheck all your "reconnections" to make sure you have it right.
Thats the right Special Relay box. I have never seen on wired in red wire. Who rewired it? Or did it come that way?

I'm pretty sure it's the correct special really box. The static Exciter and voltage regulator are brand new and solid state and shouldn't have a problem. I should be...
There is a test procedure in the Tm for testing the S9. But if you have tried several and new ones to boot. I would say that maybe you new exciter could be a problem. And I have no idea how it works.
Whats the part number on the new Special Relay Box? Its not a 400 hertz model is it?
Does the d-pin on the J9 plug go directly to the S9 unit? Should I check if the S9 is getting power. No. It goes through J9/P9 to J3/P3 on the special relay box. Then to the A5-2, through the K5 contacts.
Guy fang, sorry it's been a while since I contacted you last. I've been out of town with work. I actually bought a new relay box brand new with red plastic caps on it so I'm assuming the A5 card is good in there. I still have no power.
I checked TB-16 for ac voltage.
What you want to check for...
Try doing the same test as last time on the S9. Can you find and copy what we did? Not the whole thread, just the S9 test. If I have to go back looking, I may die of old age first.
Gordy,
Its normally the first place I look, as the card is and has been a trouble spot for the set. Could be the card, or the relays in it.
The last time we worked together, didn't we trouble shoot the S9?
Hope you had a good holiday. Happy New Year. And thank you for your reply!
I found the terminal board with the 4 wires Back connect the generator set to the static exciter. I checked AC and DC. between the terminals. And each terminal to ground. A couple of times I've got a 2 V read out but...
1st off merry Christmas!
Guyfang .... You've helped me in the past And you've been a lifesaver. I have a new problem.

Hi there sir. I'm having a new problem and I'm hoping you're still around to guide me through it. I have an MEP005A. About a year ago it was running...
