Well, I think this was covered in a prior post. This is a weekend event. TP is a few hundred miles away. No fires, no off roading. Some of us only have the weekend to get away. Dirtbag is close, we can have fires, use our rakes and shovels, get stuck and such. It wasn't scheduled in conflict...
Well, I guess technicaly it IS a stuck Jeep on the hill, only about 20 yards down the POS hill! I gave that place the one finger salute as we left. I have been in that same spot a few times with no issues with the deuce and my P/U. The only thing I saw different is that there were surveying...
More pics to come, got a link to Erics photo site and will edit his personal family pics out. If I can't get them directly to my puter, I will link them to a photo bucket acct.
To all, please do not post pics of the "tools" we had, please link them from another place, rules is rules, and if...
Jim has a mess. He PMed me and is putting it together as we speak. I wanna see what it looked like from out of the truck.
A BIG thanks to all of you, could not have got right without you.
Truck ran good as ever on the way home, no shakes or shimmys. Had a giant rock wedged in between the DS...
Talked with hole, he got there OK, said the camp was full of nails. Spent couple of hours tidying up a bit.

15 N to Stoddard Wells Rd/Bell Mtn exit. Left at the end of the ramp. Follow the road, over the RR trax, to the stop sign at SWR and Dale Evans, apx 5 mi. Go through the stop, the road turns to dirt. go apx 5 miles...maybe a bit more... and you'll drop into a valley, flat on the left, hills on...
Same here, I plan on heading out 0630 ish Friday AM. That should put me at the 15 at 0700-0715 or so. Dug and Barneyszoo, what time you guys plan on being in the 15/210 area?
:ditto: on Antelope Valley. They are not cheap, but you will have the parts the next day if you are in Ca. Filters and such can be had at NAPA, but most of the ones I have visited have the filters but no can gaskets. The stuff from AVTE will have the correct gaskets in with the filters. Nice...
I have a mess of logs and there is a bunch of wood at the Museum that needs to go. The are doing freeway work by my house. They have cut trees into nice chunks, that was done about 5 months ago, should be good to go, just gotta get there before they go home for the day so I can ask.
I know getting off at Kenwood, but you have to get back on at 138. How else do you get over the hill? I am interested in learning, but I don't have an issue with the 15.
Can't wait!!! Still got WAY too many things to do though. Don't think Jake is gonna make it this trip, he's going to Texas for a Skills USA competition. If he doesn't go I might just crash in the trailer. I might have a new AR by then!!
All,
Went out to the general area we will be in last weekend. Could not have asked for any better weather! High 60's daytime, low 50's to high 40's at night, no wind! Man, if this is any indication of what we are to expect, it will be an AWSOME weekend! I have some pics, but the camera is going...
I'll probably do the ring at the Museum, there are forklifts there. Your boots OK or do they need replacement too? I just gave my last one to a guy from here, and haven't heard from him on the replacement so I gotta get a few more. I can get some for you at the same time. I think I'm gonna go...
