    OMG is that brake fluid or gear lube???!!!

    I would clean the brake shoes with brake cleaner and then sand them with 200 grit paper until you see clean material. This is not as drastic a measure as you think it might be. You remove the contaminated material and that is maybe .010 lining. Not much really. I also sand the drums when I...
