As I understand it, the fording kit used a low pressure regulator to pressurize the various axles and gear boxes to 1 psi, or so.

When ya'll say "run the line up to the air cleaner" what do you mean?

Are you attaching it to the air cleaner somehow? Some pictures would be extremely helpful...

dont have any pics available right now but, i drilled and tapped a 1/8 ntp hole on the top of the air canister(out board of the air filter) and screwed in a 1/4' brass barb to attatch the main line.

I would clean the brake shoes with brake cleaner and then sand them with 200 grit paper until you see clean material. This is not as drastic a measure as you think it might be. You remove the contaminated material and that is maybe .010 lining. Not much really.

I also sand the drums when I do this to make sure that any glazing on them is gone so the shoes reseat. I am not talking about all the way down to a new finish, but simply enough to know that the metal is clean.

Solvents are great but elbow grease has an unlimited supply. You would be amazed at how much better things work when fresh surfaces meet each other.

Just my two cents worth....
