    Let the work begin

Well it's been almost four years since I sold the M1009 to a friend of mine. Last week he bought a brand new Ram 3500 so I bought the back. He used it as a daily driver and put 27,000 miles on it. Put a 6" lift w/35" BFg's, 5 like new 33" on stock wheels, new soft top kit, glow plugs, exhaust...

Well I just changed the glow plugs, controller and relay swapped out the rear window in the hard top and finished up a bunch of little things. Tomorrow the new owner drives it home. Now it's time to clean out the extra m1009 parts to make room for the deuce.

    Let the work begin

The sun had cooked the paint off on a few spots on the top down to the fiberglass. Ijust lightly sanded the top and shot the paint. It took a few coats but came out nice. Just got the new rear window regulator from rockauto. I was suprised it was a G.M. part and the right one.

    Let the work begin

It's Aervoe's flat black in a spray can. It figured it couldn't look any worse than it did so I just spray painted it. I'm kind of suprised on how good it came out. I bought another driver door today so I could steal all of the glass and regulater I'll get that done tomorrow.

    Let the work begin

Alt 1 and alt 2 were not charging so I found the dash was not plugged in. After cleaning all of the contacts I got alt 1 to work but alt2 was still dead so I took it to my alt guy and found it had a bad regulater. Now it's time for the interior clean up. I painted the dash and right door panel...

    Let the work begin

Well I got busy today and painted the rest of the truck. I still have the roof to do. The truck is sold to a friend and he was wondering if the top would look better green or flat black. Anyone have any picks both ways?

Painted the roof inside the tailgate and door jams today. I had to let the air out of the tires so I could get the spray gun up on the roof. Still was a pain not enough room to work.

It was the white one you had. It was a little rusty on the inside of the lower edge so I worked over the orignal one then decided it was a little better. Thanks anyway.

    Let the work begin

Here is todays progress. I got the tailgate on and all the chrome trim off. I spent some time pounding the dents out of the front fender. I just have a quater size rust spot on the rear quarter panel to fix then time for some primer and lots of block sanding.

    Let the work begin

I finished the passenger side now I'm working on the drivers side. The drivers side front fender is too far gone for me. I found a replacement for $75 so it's just not worth the time to fix. I ordered the paint from Alan Haage today and hope to paint it in a few weeks.
