The Deuce is in the driveway.
A nice 50 mile drive home. Everything went well.
Ear to ear grin all the way.
What a kick to drive.
Wish I had it last weekend so I could have gone to Haspin today. I sure hope to make the next one.:driver:
It seems this thread will have a happy ending after all.
The Duece is coming home Sunday.
Gulfway did an excellent job on the insurance coverage. A big thumbs up to them. My normal agent hadn't a clue...
Title, temporary tags and insurance ID card are in hand.
It will be a long wait until Sunday...
By all previous intentions, this truck shoul be in my drive now. I had cash in hand Friday and was willing to hand it over. The last minute dissappointment from my insurance agent sent me home empty handed. Things usually happen for a reason. Some that may not be apparent to me at this time...
Gulfway quote was just under 250 a year with 1000 deductable. That is doable. Too many other negatives for a vehicle with such limited use. It seems these things are real white elephants as well. Many for sale but none really selling. If you wanted to part with one the scrap yard is likely the...
Gulfway will insure it but not as resonably as verbally quoted.
All in all, this is not worth the very limited use the truck would see. A garage would have made it a different story.
That's what this thread was for though. To explore the possibility.
It's not in the cards for me.
This truck is...
Hagerty, like most others, also specifies garage parking.
I talked to Gulfway. The most reasonable folks to talk to so far. They should have an official quote in a day.
My fingers are crossed for the last time.
I was just advised by State Farm that they are unable to write a personal policy for this truck.
This endeavor is behind me.
No more wasted time chasing my tail.
Thanks all.
I think this truck just wasn't meant to be.
Condon & Skelly, Hagerty and American Collector Ins. all have the condition the vehicle must be stored in a secured garage. Liability only isn't an option. In addition, Hagerty wouldn't insure it because it is "too new". Too new...26 years old????
The...
I appreciate all the advice concerning insurance. My biggest disappointment has been the incompetence of my own insurance agent. Twice I've been told I could get coverage at a resonable rate. In the end that has quadrupled (assuming that she really can do it).
I first looked at this truck last...
After being rained out earlier this week, it was finally time to take a second serious look at the Deuce.
An hour before leaving, I called my insurance agent to confirm the coverage she quoted a couple of weeks ago from my current insurance carrier. Liability coverage was quoted at $124 per...
All of you guys have been a great help.
I'm going for a second look tomorrow afternoon.
I'll definitely take it for a drive and get a much closer look at all the aspects of this truck.
So...it all goes well, the pooch is in trouble.
Thanks for all the prompt responses and info links.
I have lots of photos but I have to 1. downsize them. and 2. learn how to post them on this forum.
The truck has a title. The owner has several 2.5 and 5 ton trucks he uses in his construction business. He and his father have had them for...
Good morning from a FNG.
I've been constantly bugged for the last 2 months since looking at a local Deuce. I think I need to buy it but would like some advice.
Here's the basics. It's a 1985 M35A2C WO/W. 14000 miles, 650 hours. New soft top, heater, LDT465-1C engine. It was an Air Force truck...
