What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

I towed my M1009 home after it died. My son said it just quit, I have fuel to the filter, it spins but does not sound like the injectors are getting fuel....not enough time to look further. I fueled my M1008 for the first time since April 5th. He is driving it now, so I am sure the fuel will go...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

My '87 rolled over 38,000 miles today and I tightened the fan belts while the boys were out running. Glen

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

Six deuce tires and wheels, two white shepherds, a full tank of fuel, some fluids, big old boy in the drivers seat and some tools.... scaled at 8220. It was hauling the load easy enough and rode pretty smooth, just enough weight to take out some of the bounce.....M1008... Glen

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

I advanced the timing a little more on my M1008 today, it had no rattle, at least now it sounds and smells like a diesel when it runs. I cleaned out all of the tools, filters and liquids out of the cab and bed that I hauled to South Dakota for my deuce recovery. Changed the oil and filter just...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

My M1008 got a new set of injectors, a little advance on the injection pump, a new fuel filter, oil change, and now I need to replace those two too small group 24 batteries that were in it when I bought it. The old girl starts good normally, but when it was 18 below up in SD she failed to crank...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

Changed the oil and filter on the M1009, changed the fuel filter, replaced the speedometer cable, replaced the glow plugs and one of the lead screw on battery posts referred to above. It kept coming loose and finally would not tighten. I apparently stripped the threads someplace along the line...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

Replaced the weak battery in one of the M1009s. It was a 2001 battery, so it had served us well. If the new one will hang in there that long.....

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

I bought a new Gen 2 belt and installed it after my old one wound itself up tightly around the base of my fan clutch. That thing was tough to dig out of there, should have taken photos of it wound up so nice and tightly. You know that had to happen in a nano-second at 65 mph!
