Wow that is awesome they did that. What ever happened with your truck? Last I saw you, you were in turn 4 with a coolant overflow problem. Did they tow you off the track, or what happened? Just wondering since I never saw you or your truck again how you got out of there.
Nice to meet everyone, we had an awesome time. I am not a huge NASCAR fan (more into off-road racing), but I can say watching Tue race from atop the comfort of the truck was much better than sitting in the stands, even though you can't see much. The first time we went around the track I got...
We plan to leave my house at 7:30, should be there around 8:30. If anyone needs any tools or assistance tomorrow, the wrecker truck has about everything I own in it.
Butch, I am not sure if your number is posted somewhere in the thread or not, but might be a good idea to post it up (if you don't want to post it PM it to me). That way anyone that has road trouble, is running late, etc can call and give you a heads up.
it may be easiest if I just bring them with me. I will probably have about 10 of each, if anyone wants one or three just come find me. As for slave cables and other parts, please let me know beforehand so I can bring them.
Figure I will throw this out there, if anyone needs any of the below I can bring them:
Scepter tan fuel cans (new) $35 each
Scepter tan water cans (new) $25 each
slave cables (I have plenty listed for sale in tools for sale, knock $20 off the cheaper ones, $40 off the $300+ ones)
Sincgars radio...
Wow, I thought we were heading out at 10:00? I think my father-in-law bailed, didn't want to have to be there all day I don't guess. Can someone take his spot if I find someone else wanting to come?
Will the entrance to the meeting area be easy to spot? There is no doing u-turns in the M920...
I think the tent would be too much work to setup/tear down, but if you are going to do it I might suggest only using one half of it. I do think it would look cool on pit road if you opened the wings up though, as long as there is nothing inside that can go missing.
What are your thoughts on...
Butch, what is the talk about me doing something with the Mule? I can unload it if need be (although I was thinking he was bringing it on a trailer now), but I would not want to say I will haul it to or from the track, ONLY because if I leave the race early he would have to leave when I do. If...
I am still planning on showing up that morning, would it be OK if I just went straight to the Credential office? The M920 is NOT 'traffic' friendly, the CAT 7155 transmission has close ratios and is slow to up/downshift (so it is just plain slow). If I need to show up to the 'meet' area I can...
Digger, I guess you are the one bringing the Mule, I assume you still need it unloaded? I will have the wrecker truck there but probably won't show up until Sunday morning (not going to camp with yall Saturday night, as I am only about an hour away). I have some chains/straps, but to make...
That is a hard decision to make on your part. Didn't you say there will be a static display of trucks outside the racetrack? Could any trucks over the 15 number be parked there? I am not a huge NASCAR fan (even though I took the NASCAR program in college), more a fan of off-road racing I...
I have removed the winch now, and hope to have a sleeper cab off a semi truck installed by the Denton rally. I am also debating removing the drop axle since I don't have but one spare tire/wheel, and I will never actually NEED the drop axle for load carrying. My plans are to use that space to...
Was posting earlier off my phone. As of now I have:
M934a1
M928a1
M931a2
M920 (too bad it is too 'modified'!)
M936a1
M35a2 deuce
The only truck I currently have tagged/insured is the M920, which is why I wanted to bring it (tagged/insured as an RV). I do not have CDL's so not sure I can...
Not sure what all I will have tagged/insured at that time, but what about a M920 with a deuce bed on it and 53" tires? It may have a sleeper cab on it by then too. Not historically accurate but it is a big military vehicle.
I have a wrecker truck, but it won't be tagged as I do not want to...
