Not quite right either...
You will never be able to import a full, uncut, undemilled 100mm barrel for a tank you import. You can...if you have the funds...have a new one made here in the states. The license you mention is not for personal use so unless you find a agency that needs an old...
Well you are not "quite" correct about this. When they further "clarified" the deal with importing barrels for "repair and replacment" and they started actually cracking down on the barrel demils (it was already onthe books) it just became subject to the type of weapon it was.
Barels can be...
Ah....you will have fun doing this and I'm all for it if you do go through with it. I've been debating this one really. It may be cool but it can also be the most boring MV you will ever own as well not to mention labor intensive. It's not like you can take a 40+ ton machine out and play with it...
I saw that too but I know what he's talking about. Those arent cheap either.
Actually the BMP isn't that bad as long as its maintained. The engine compartment is a bit cramped so you cant get in a hurry working in there but if its in good shape and you dont floor it and make allot of hard...
Hey great to see your BRDM!!!!! Knew you would figure that uploading deal!!!!:-D Forgot to mention I may be ordering some parts from another place and I will see if they have that sight. If they do you can tag it along with my order:wink:
This info is what I needed! I'm thinking I may gut the...
Noooo British armor for me please. Too many things to break and they dont seem very maintenance friendly.
Cost is another factor too. Buy from a dealer and you pay for his time, expenses, etc do it yourself and buy direct and its a whole lot cheaper. Cant afford to spend $40,000 or more on toys...
Got one enroute. Not with tires but tracked BMP-1 with 73mm gun.

I am thinking about a T-72 or another for next year and I'm investigating into this sizing issue
Cool:-D I will check out the places you guys have mentioned. Maybe I can get some info!
Sumoman, this is reassuring! I really like the lines of the 72 but if I cant fit then the 55 or 62 will work I'm pretty sure. Only thing is I have found they are somewhat more expensive than the T-72 and...
Sh*t......
So then it is true. Is it just a matter of getting past the hatch opening or is it cramped all the way inside? To answer the question about the BMP-1 its yes. I do fit in the BMP, I may have to elevate one arm while entering the drivers hatch but once in I have enough room t move...
I'm trying to figure out if I can fit inside a T-72. I'm over 6' and have about a 40" waist and I'm told "no way" "it's made for kids" etc.....
Does anyone have one or have access to one and could possibly measure the driver and turret hatches for me and maybe give me an idea if I will be able...
