Yeah, they do get great milage. But with that much power I would never lift, Too much fun. Maybe I was wrong, But that is what I heard. That might be because of the sand in the middle east.
I have heard about the injectors and heads but never known anyone who has had those problems, only the EPA stuff. One had a dirty air fliter and everyone thought it was injectors or heads or fuel. Always check the easy stuff first. Nice to Know about the Bellhousing but there proberly will be...
Quote from above: To calculate torque at the rear wheels (gears multiply torque) you would take 330 pound feet, times 6:1 first gear in the 3053 transmission, times 6.72 rear axle ratio, which equals 13,305 pound feet of torque. With a locker or even traction, this is split about equally between...
When you do the math, which I have, you get about 7500 ft-lb of torque in 1st high at the rear. In 1st Low and all 3 axels you get about 21,300 ft-lb of torque. Now that is a lot!
I think GM owned Izusu for a while. The Duramax is a GM engine. The newer 6.6 is a much better than the old 6.2. The MF has 130 hp and somewhere between 305 and 330 foot pounds of torque.
In the early 60's Chrylser built a few jet turbine powered cars. They did not get out of the protype phase. I think that there is only one left. There are a few bikes with some big turbines in them. They are REALY FAST. You could use a turbine from a M1A2 Abrams Tank. 1500 hp with a...
That's why I would use the base engine. No EPA crap. The only major issue you listed was oiling. The rest you can fix in the driveway. I have heard of problems, but GM extended alot of warrantys to 20 years and 200,000 miles. That's a long time. Still be COOL.
You could use a semi trans. Why don't you use a Detroit Deisel semi engine. You'd have to do some mods to the front. But you would be the only Deuce doing Wheel Stands.
Maybe you could use a Semi Turck Transmission. Hey, Maybe a Detriot Deisel semi engine. Would have to do some front end mods. but it might be worth it. Only Deuce doing wheel stands!
My aunt's GMC K2500 With a Duramax has had minor problems. All EPA regulated stuff. I would not put any of that on there. I hate wrining, but could do it. Plus with a HyperPack will add tons of power. You can run Kanola oil and make tons of power. Two Stacks and turbo's. As long as it is...
I just thought it might be cool to have one with the Duramax. It would have the turbo's and and make about 360hp and 660Ft-lbs of torque. I might do it one day just to have fun.
Has anyone thought about dropping a Duramax in a Deuce? Twice the Hp and Twice the Torque. It is also lighter. The Spicer 3053A should bolt up real good. Any Ideas?
