I think you were absolutely right. I replaced the terminals today - the melted one and one that snapped in half when tightening it. These things are really poorly made these days. Was thinking about going to bronze instead lead terminals. The 1009 started much better with the tightened...

Melted my battery terminal trying to start the 1009 on a cold morning. Guess it's time to check the starting circut and plug in the block heater.

Those do look great! What suspension and/or transmission mods have you done? I have a bs Ask ally stock 09 and would like to run that size but unsure if the th400 will take it?

M1009 - pulled the temperature sensor off near the back of the intake on the drivers side. Thought I might be able to find some numbers to cross reference to a new one but no luck. The parts store only has one with atop pinned outlet and mine looks like a coax cable connection.

New AC Delco 60G glow plugs all around! Tech manual says only 10 ft-lbs torque and was surprised it was that low.

Got it towed to the transmission shop for a rebuild:jumpin:!!!

Tried to install my new 2-3 accumulator pump so that I can put my transmission back together and maybe more the Oh-9 out of the driveway. Need a special tool of course!

Started my transmission fix journey. Started a thread and posted some pics.

Did the Doghead Starter Relay Mod :beer: Starts nicely with it! I think glow plugs may be next! Little by little!

Changed my glow plug relay and battery terminal connectors to marine type with wingnut. Still diagnosing my intermittent starting issue where it does not like to start when I have run it and let it sit for about an hour. Transmission shuddering and non-shift to 3rd will be after that. Oh boy!

Drove mine to home depot and walked home when it would not start. Ordered new glow plug and starter relays from cucvelectric.com

Started it just to hear it run and smile
