I got the wiring harness installed Saturday. Looks like it's going to work just fine. Should have about a foot and a half of slack once it's connected to the recepticle on the truck. Thanks again Armada for tipping me that I can use the shorter 1/4 ton m416 trailer cable! :)

I haven't had a chance to install it yet, but by all initial indications, it seems as though it will be long enough. I will be starting on replacing the wiring harness and cable tomorrow and will let you all know the results.

Thanks for the heads up. However, now I'm really confused, because OD Iron is listing the 8722865 P/N as being shorter than the 8722864 cable. My understanding was that the 8722864 was about 60" long and the 8722865 was around 72". However this page lists different lengths altogether. ...

I found a supplier who says he has the cable specifically for the M101 trailer, but he says the NSN number is 00-830-6663 and it is about 8' long. My Technical manual TM 9-2330-202-14P for the M101A2 lists this cable as being NSN 6150008306672, or P/N 8722865 So I'm a little confused about the...
