    I am a little impatient, trying to get my ducks lined up but no more "discovery" is going to take place until the title/registration is settled, I might find some "protected" green paint when tearing the FAV down after that.

    Thanks guys, I did a couple searches without getting any what seemed like credible information, as soon as I had the number 34079 it now seems pretty clear, mid 70s through the mid 80s was 34079.

    So far the green that I have uncovered appears to be darker than 303. The FAVs were delivered to FT Lewis in 1982 and were painted (Ferris metals and fiberglass only) black, they were then taken into a secure building and modified for combat. The personnel on the base referred to that building...

    I was thinking 24087 but that did not come up because I forgot it is semi gloss and I was searching flat, I knew it was a something 087, that is what I painted one of my Unimogs, like that color and then it was dirt cheap surplus.

    I did find this.. When the Army adopted CARC in 1983, it issued a set of guidelines on how the transition from alkyd to CARC was to transpire. The transition began in October 1985 (start of Fiscal Year 1986) for systems already in the field. The guidelines were as follows:
