    . Having hydraulic power on board gives you lots of options. Aside from your original goal for a winch, you can have a hydraulic impact wrench, or a chain saw, or a even a jack... Lots of choices. Heck, you could even connect your log splitter up to the system if you wanted to.

    . Wow @Spoonerist ... I dunno about using vegetable oil as brake fluid. Quick research on the Web (and we all know that the Web Never Lies) says that it could work. Also found people who have used water as brake fluid. I guess any fluid would work if you were in a tight spot. Then again...
