What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

My truck is a 1031 that came with to me with two 1009 bucket seats and a big space in the middle for a radio stack. I really like the high-back seats and didnt want to toss them for a bench so I fished on here for a long time looking for another bucket in my area and got one a couple of months...

I finally was able to put together the time to mount the contact box from my 1031 to the surplus trailer I bought a while back. Next: extend the PTO to the bumper and build my connecting shaft and wiring cable. Click the "Build Thread" link in my siggy to see pics etc. Oh, I also received my...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

I did a paint test on my 1031. I used a 150 sanding sponge for about 5 minutes and roughed it up. All the rust came right off with no problems at all.... Amazingly easy actually. I masked it off real quick and then applied the paint with a fine 1" roller. The paint has a little more texture than...

I picked up the bed for my 1031/1028 conversion. I did a test fit on the wheel spacers I bought. You wouldnt believe how POd I was to find out that after swearing to me that my lug nits would work with the spacers they wont. Im glad I was just tinkering for a test and not all set up for the...

I had some time to play a little today. Installed a new 2m mobile radio and antenna. Cleaned up and adjusted the cab doors so they open and close smoothly now and dont flop half open when you go around a corner and lean on the door.

Great idea. Around here the big utility trucks have the same sort of thing but they use a thick piece of wire rope instead of chain.

A come-along and a soft strap could help beautify the brush guard too.

Great looking truck! I cant wait to get my H1s on. What type/color paint did you use on the wheels? Did you mount the tires/wheels and then paint so the finish is all smooth like that? If so, how did you mask off the tire? Did you get the numbers from a specific source with some kind of meaning...

Hey Wayne, sorry if I cam off as disrespectful. The PO was never in the service but rather was operating a mini dive business from home using the 1031 as his dive rig. His highschool aged son made a divers mask in metal shop that was a couple of layers of mild steel welded to to the brush guard...

I replaced all the belts on my 1031 today. Ive had it for about 2 weeks and the drivers side alt belt would cry bloody murder for the first minute or two of running. The belts were in pretty bad shape and the alt that was squealing was at the end of the adjustment. I have read much on SS about...

Hey allenhillview: As has properly been said I love the panel. The guy who built it does fine work. I do have one question though...... whats the point of it? Why do you need a toggle on the side of your seat for all those circuits that should just be on all the time for the most part? Please...

I found a guy local to me who is parting out a civi p/u that has the dual fuel doors on it and I was able to lock him into a price for it. The bed is in great shape with gate and all. Now onto locating a second tank, switching solenoid and tank selector switch for the cab. I should be starting...
