Providing Magna Sine Inverter with MEP power

Thanks Kurt. The 2-wire standby mode simplifies things because there is no "run" sense signal required between the Gen and the controller. The inverter senses the incoming AC voltage from the gen and communicates that to the controller. The controller accepts this as its "run" sensed...

Providing Magna Sine Inverter with MEP power

Kurt, Quick question. Does your 2 wire auto-start work with a start command derived from a constant on signal from an on/off switch or relay (closed circuit = on / open circuit = off) or is it a momentary closed circuit to command a start and then another momentary closed circuit to command a...

Providing Magna Sine Inverter with MEP power

Found one!! Great price too. Got the 4448PAE, the interconnect panel, remote, BMK, and auto gen start module. Only things still on back order are the PT100 charge controller for solar and the back panel that the inverter and interconnect mount to. Very happy with the price. About 50 bucks...

Providing Magna Sine Inverter with MEP power

Thank you NATCAD. Where do you see that they're in stock? I see a bunch of retailers/wholesalers in the where to buy section of their website but nothing that confirms that they have them in stock. Their whole set up seems a bit procey too.

Providing Magna Sine Inverter with MEP power

Yes Sir they have. Biden Bucks!!! They are on back order everywhere. Some distributors have said they have had orders in since November. Haven't yet been able to find out if the shortage is due to demand exceeding production capacity or component supply chain issues slowing/stopping...

Providing Magna Sine Inverter with MEP power

Yep, thanks NATCAD. I can find plenty of places that have had them for sale, but they are all on back order now, as I mentioned a couple posts ago.

Providing Magna Sine Inverter with MEP power

Pretty set on the magnum for a few reasons. Split phase input and output, reliability reputation, simplicity of system setup and wiring with the MMP, and ME-ARC configuration with no reliance on bluetooth devices etc.

Providing Magna Sine Inverter with MEP power

The MS4448PAE is evidently unobtanium these days. I've tried calling every number on the Sensata Technologies website and not one actual human yet. Still waiting. I've also called a bunch of solar companies and every damn one of them tries to push you into a grid tied federally subsidized...

Thank you for posting this. The 802 wave looks excellent..

Providing Magna Sine Inverter with MEP power

Yep, saw those and the Jakiper as well. Seems like lots of good choices. I've been watching Prowse as well. I've been trying to find one of these Magnum Energy MS4448PAE But they seem to be on backorder everywhere. Dang. Debating on whether or not to get the batteries now for fear they'll...

    That exact brand and model?

Providing Magna Sine Inverter with MEP power

So I started researching server rack batteries. Lots of advantage to the simplicity of racking and using bus bars instead of a bunch of series/parallel cables. Plus the price as you mentioned is good. I can get 48V 100 Ah for nearly half the price of 4x12V 100Ah. If you have a moment and...

Providing Magna Sine Inverter with MEP power

Thanks Kurt. Just downloaded the manual. And I will definitely be going with the 48V system. If it makes sense to you I'm a believer.

Do you use 1/0 AWG cable on your system?

Providing Magna Sine Inverter with MEP power

Damn. 300 AH at 48v? You've got some runtime there!! I've definitely settled on LIFEPO4's, not sure of the brand yet though. What are you using? Any thoughts on Battle Born?

Providing Magna Sine Inverter with MEP power

Thank you DA. Your response is quite helpful. What is the V / Ah / chemistry of your battery bank? As for solar, maybe down the road a bit. Right now my primary objectives are to load down the gen a bit during the day (efficiency) and maintain critical circuits at night (or during the day)...

Providing Magna Sine Inverter with MEP power

Hello Kurt, I'm considering the MS4024PAE. The little brother to yours. Probably a 200 or 400 Ah 24V battery bank to start. Can't tell you how glad I am to have you weigh in as this stuff is smack dab in the middle of your wheelhouse. Glad to see you chose Magnum Energy. Are you...

Providing Magna Sine Inverter with MEP power

I'm considering installing a Magnum Energy Magna-Sine inverter in my house to energize a critical loads panel. When utility power is out here I don't run the generator overnight. During the day, for most of the time, the 802 is very lightly loaded so the charger draw will load down the gen a...
