Turbo 400 TH400 Transmission 4x4 Performance Super Duty 4WD, turbo 400 monster transmission, Racing Th400, Race Th400, Racing Turbo 400 You could have the original transmission overhauled for 1/2 the price. Happy Holidays. That would be a good price if that was in the truck and out with labor...

I guess at this point anything is possible. Did you replace any of the clutch discs? I worked on vehicles all my life and auto transmissions were always considered a specialty. In the GM dealership I worked in we all specialized in certain areas. Transmissions was always 2 guys area of...

At this time, I would not speculate. I would take it to a competent transmission shop and have it diagnosed. Was the transmission rebuilt by a skilled knowledgeable person? I hope you didn't buy a used transmission that was missing a torque converter and install it. Burnt clutch material causes...

How about the modulator? is it getting vacuum? And is the hose tight going into the modulator? And being that you had the transmission out are you sure the metal line that runs down is not cracked or kinked. Check that also. I always take my CUCV's to a friend to get the vacuum modulator...

Check the VCV on the injection pump. Make sure the valve is getting suction/vacuum. The top hose to transmission the bottom hose to back of engine vacuum pump. It will suck your fingertip fast if it is making vacuum.

A piece of 3/4" plywood the size of the transmission pan and a floor jack is the only transmission jack I myself have personally owned. I removed and installed hundreds of transmissions with the same Snap-On 2 1/2 ton floor jack. 2 guys in 20 minutes can have that up in place on a solid floor...

Sometimes you need a stronger impact. Breaking a bolt that size would be a feat. A good shallow impact socket attached to a strong impact will get the job done. If you use a chrome socket you have lost more than half the effect of the strong impact. Add a deep socket even less and an extension...

Have you had the chance to get the bolts out of the spring top plates. That is a 1 1/8" bolt and you will need the bolts and all 4 of the flat washers. 2 flat washers on each side. One flat washer against the bolt head back side and the other flat washer goes from the sway bar to the top...

Terminus M1009 | Page 5 | SteelSoldiers Check out this thread. I used a strip of 12-gauge galvanneal steel and welded it all the way across the top of the gate. I stich welded it, and it made the gate tough again. Actually, tougher than when it was new. Check out the pus case gate I started out...

It never ends. If you own and drive a CUCV you had better be ready to work on it. People are driving these CUCV's like they are 5 year old vehicles. They are approaching 40 years old. I was in high school in the late 70's. I don't recall seeing any late 30's, 40's and maybe 1 late 50's model...

The rear 4 body bolts are nothing fancy. They are just 1/2" carriage bolts. Do you still have your fuel tank out? Check out my thread on the decade wrecked M1009. I've seen fire and I've seen pain, I seen rusty bushings I thought would never bend. The beating of bolts I thought would never end...

I think the horn works on grounding the relay. Like the power is there all the time and the button completes the ground. Not 100% sure. Electrical is my weak area. I know enough to get by and am happy I know that much.

I heard a green grasshopper has a green Hiney hole. I never looked. I used Energy suspension motor mount inserts on every build. For someone to say these CUCV rattle boxes have more vibration is Ludacris. The only time I felt no vibrations on a CUCV was when it was parked and not running. My...
