Deuce cranks but no start - ITP source?

Thanks Gimp and Mbehne for the thought that made me change directions. Mbehne, where in IA do you call home?

Deuce cranks but no start - ITP source?

Ok, I forgot to mention that the air cleaner is new and not plugged, but your compression comments got me thinking. I wondered if it wasn't cranking fast enough to light it. I had charged up the batteries, but I thought it might be cranking too slow. I dragged it out of the machine shed, hooked...

Deuce cranks but no start - ITP source?

After a summer of being swamped with work and the farm, I have only managed to tinker with this problem on one or two occaisions. Now, I finally have a chance to work on it. After working on it last night and all day today, I am getting very frustrated. Here is what I have. A new ITP that works...

Deuce cranks but no start - ITP source?

You are talking about the fuel cutoff lever on the IP? I checked that this spring when this all started. I have to admit that I haven't looked at it since I have replaced the ITP. It could be sticking. I'll look at it again.

Deuce cranks but no start - ITP source?

Well, I wondered the same thing. What befuddles me is that it ran just fine when I backed it in the machine shed last fall. Is it possible that something froze last winter? I have the batteries charging tonight. Tomorrow, I will try it again with good batteries and see what happens.

Deuce cranks but no start - ITP source?

Ok, back on track. I finally got around to working on my deuce some more. I have the new in-tank pump installed and power to it. It runs when the switch is on. It creates awesome fuel flow. I have fuel flow all the way through the system...through the primary and secondary fuel filters, at each...

Deuce cranks but no start - ITP source?

Second that! That is a magnetic drive, not shaft driven. If you are positive your impeller spins, then there are only three other options: 1) the intake screen is plugged (no fuel to the impeller), 2) the impeller is screwed up, deformed, worn out, or clogged with something. 3) the outgoing...

Deuce cranks but no start - ITP source?

Kipman, I just sent you paypal for that ITP. Does anyone have any tricks up their sleeve for getting my old wire plug out of the old pump without damaging the plug?

Deuce cranks but no start - ITP source?

My thoughts exactly. Hopefully nothing major got sucked up that open fuel line and is lodged in a line. I'll force air back through from the first filter when I change filters.

Deuce cranks but no start - ITP source?

Ok, so when I got home from work last night and finished my chores, I went to the machine shed to start on the deuce. I found that there were only three screws holding the ITP assembly in (the other holes were siliconed over and I had never noticed that). Once I got the ITP out, I found that I...

Deuce cranks but no start - ITP source?

Thanks Kipman, once it stops raining here, I'll take the old one out and see if I indeed need one. If that's the case, I'll definitely give you a call. This weekend has been totally frustrating since I had lots of plans for the deuce in addition to all my farm and livestock work. It has been a...

Deuce cranks but no start - ITP source?

Thanks Patracy! That was a great thread to learn from. It sounds like I have a lot to learn once I tear into this. It has been raining here since Saturday @ 0300, so that really slows down my mechanic work. It has given me time to stare at the TMs and worry about what all could possibly be...

Deuce cranks but no start - ITP source?

My deuce has always started easily. After sitting in the barn all winter, I drained the oil, flushed the case with some new oil, changed the oil and added spin-on oil filters. The truck sat for a couple weeks and it won't start. It cranks but it acts like it is not getting fuel. I don't get...
