Tim. You have the "cleanest" Deuce I've ever seen !!!
It's immaculate !
How many hours do you have in your Deuce ? Plus can you come over to my place and help me clean-up my Deuce !
I have thought about that too as my father was a "cabinet" maker. Make a mistake with wood and you're buying a whole new piece of probably very expensive wood.
Doesn't bother me at all, and I'm sure it doesn't bother most others either. In fact, I quite enjoyed your trucks pictures ! Plus a father should be proud of his sons accomplishments.
That's a nice looking Dodge you have there ! Though I would have used a 318cid engine instead. Let's keep a Dodge a Dodge.
What happened to the bed though ?
Now that is real nice and very clean looking !!!
Did you make the plate yourself or did you have it made ? If you had it made, how much did they charge you and are they willing to make more ?

I remember putting them in a sealed bucket with several other lights I wanted to keep safe. I have several storage rooms of stuff. All packed from floor to ceiling. If I made an extreme effort to find them it would probably take several days just to clean out one of the rooms. It makes me tired...
Normally I would just replace a battery that had that much damage, but if you where in a pinch that sounds like a really great idea ! As long as the plastic battery housing doesn't melt it should work fine. I guess you could put some aluminum around the terminal to protect the housing.
Thanks "Ahab" . Yes, the aluminum primer is for "non-ferrous metal". You can get the paint at almost any hardware store. I buy mine from "Home Depot" . It has a "self etching" acid in the formula so it can bond with the smooth non- ferrous surface. It actually works well on any metal surface but...
One thing I would do is to totally clean or better yet sandblast the housing, (inside and out) then paint it with a good aluminum primer paint and gloss enamel later. This will protect the metal from corroding in the future. Also put some "NO-OXIDE" paste on the contacts. I did that with mine...
