Should there be a nice solid click when turning factory hubs between free and lock? The only other 4x4 I've owned with manual hubs had a noticeable click. The hubs on my recently acquired m1009 have no clicking of any kind.

No, they are pretty quiet. I always roll the truck a few inches by hand and watch the axle shafts to ensure engagement but I'm probably in the minority of folks who confirm.

Spent some time testing out the 4wd last night. After disenganging the hubs and returning to the free position im getting a clicking/chattering noise from the hub assemblies while driving. When they are locked back up it goes away. I havent looked inside them yet. Any ideas on the cause?
