10K vers 12k half shafts (size)

What are the measurements to be able to tell them apart?

my new ones measure 1.170 across the splines

The 12k shafts don't look the same or use cv joints.

the joint near the brake rotor looks more like a triangle than it does a circle...

my 12k shafts are 1.22" thick.

There are 12k shafts for solid, and vented brake rotors.[ different rotor end.....vented has larger circle between bolt holes ].

You need new upper spur gears in your Geared hubs for starters...
unless your your doing serious off reading, there is no need to change up to 12k HS. Just make sure you install newest style 10.3k
then while off roadong, learn to BTM correctly so you don't snap a shaft.
