I have been trying to research a cheaper more durable replacement for the original alternator on my truck. If you search 10SI 24 volt alternator you get 12 pages and I didn't find a thread with it mentioned so I gotta ask. Anyone use them? Is there a reason not to? I am either going to buy or build one as the one on my truck is toast AKAIK. Sorry if this has been beat to death but surely someone remembers a thread around here about them.

I replaced my smoked original with a 10si 24V plus I added a 12V mounted above the 24V. Fording not recommended but most on this site that do not recommend fording are not talking about the alternator anyway.

I just replaced mine with a 21si. Try searching without so many words. That search is picking up every word you type...just try "10si" or "21si"
