It looks like my M51 A2 takes 10w oil for the PS fluid, unfortunately my local parts store can’t get it In anything less than a 55 gallon drum they are the best around, is there a substitute?
Thanks for any info

10w oil is the same weight as hydraulic oil. I use Shell Tellus (32 I think) in my hydraulic tanks. It is definitely 10w oil.

I can't speak to how happy it will or MAY NOT make your Allison Automatic transmission though...

ATF is 10w but it has a lot of detergents and additives in it. It is used in many PS components.

Hit up your local feed /farm store.

They usually sell 'tractor fluid' aka hydraulic oil in 5-gal buckets.

I get mine for around $35.

Plain ole power stg oil is 10w with additives to keep it from foaming and wearing. Any parts store, grocery store, walmart etc sell power stg oil usually in pints or quarts.
