One of those red wires has a white tracer, look closely. It needs to be in the correct location.

I converted to 12 volt. The Roscommon method is the way to do the conversion. You will still need an understanding of the 24 volt system or you may get confused such as batteries going from series to parallel and maybe a few unexpected wires not shown. The alternator belts after converting are the same ones for the civilian version of the vehicle, ie: M1008 CUCV to Chevy K30 truck and M1009 to civilian blazer with the same engines of course.

We may say we can convert back some day, but probably not so be sure this is what you want to do. DON'T take it to a shop. They do not know what to do.
