Has anybody Seen or played with the Thought of 12R20 Goodyear G272's? Or is that even possible to put those on stock m293 dual wheels? Random thought maybe this has been touched and shot down already. thanks!

The Goodyear shows they can be run dual on 8" rim width min, 9" max. 75 MPH speed limit. I woud say you would be good.

I would like to put some on the front of the 819,

Good idea...but dual or single? What on the front....same? I guess a 12.00 would fit a single combat rim for the front and run dual (budd) 12.00 on the rear...cool.

I'm thinking about singles in the 14.00 bias (new ones) for the 817 (if I don't sell it).


Edit...duh sorry, I see you say "on the front". If you have 12.00 on front, what on rear?

Yea, I like them too. If you use the 12.00 in the front, you might use combat wheels. Or go to a wider with the same diameter. I didn't know they were 12.00 as oem.

Are 12.00 a common size? Is there any problem putting them on the budd's that normally have 11.00's.

I have had problems finding 12x20s NDTs, I do believe they are on the same budd wheels as a standard M809series 5-tons (also A0 M939series) maybe someone on here has a honey hole somewhere and will chime in.

1200s are OE for the 819, the -p calls for a different rim, (wider), and again with the MWO for the front hubs, a different rim on the front. I use both 819 rims and bridge truck rims (wider then 819 rims) but only on the out side duel and front, even using 819 rims, at times I get a bit of rub with the inner rears. The 1200r 272s would be nice for the HEAVY 819 front.

Side note, The MWO was due to the extreme weight on the front axle, the 246 was heavy on the front axle, the 250 in the 819 just made it heavier.

You might want to check WHAT they came off of, may REQUIRE a different rim then the standard budd rim due to the bead seat.

Then there are three different rims for duals, the standard budd that has 11.00 usually, another budd that will use the the 12.00 (819) which has more offset and the bridge truck rim that has a lot of offset and wider for the 14.00 tire. You use one from the 819 on the inside of both rears and a bridge truck rim for the outside. I understand for dual 14.00, (the bridge truck with dual 14.00) there are additional spacers. But you must not use them. Am I reading your post correct, that you use 12.00's on all eight rears?

Are you just inside the 8'6" legal limit?

What is the corresponding front diameter tire or do you use 12.00s there also?

The 819 OE is 1200 all the way around, it is not only the offset but a wider rim as well, The spacers go on the hub front/back then the tire/tires, NOT between them.

This is why I say G172 1200rs would be perfect for the front, What is the weight rating for these ??? 1200 ndts are very hard to find, I have 13 (had 14 new but air operations took 1), do not/won't run them on the front due to the HEAVY front axle load (just under 14,000 lbs) and the fact of air op. along with a second front tire (1100r) detonation.

Right now I am running 1100rs (G177) on the front along with a dropped front drive shaft, the military had done the MWO for the front sprag but did it DIFFERENT, worked fine till one of the popped valves started to leak, then about burnt up a front axle.
