1600-20 Spare Mount on M923 Cargo Truck

Those don't look as stout. I was thinking about getting on of those for the top's ability to pivot, but now I'm not sure. What size tube is that top section made of? The extendable section of the one I have is .25 inch.

The one I have doesn't really pivot. The top portion slips over the lower tube and is held in place by the pin that holds the angled piece that braces the top part.

Edit: by the TM it looks like the extendable part is the same for both styles of davits.

There is only 15" between the bed and the air intake on the drivers side. I think the air intake will have to be moved forward and the grab handle mounted on it [Young Gun idea] to make this work. Or the bed will have to be moved back a couple of inches.
