Hey Matt-
I got one of these things buried in the high security area of the barn. I have been piling stuff around it for a few years and it is sticking out a little yet. Only mine is 110 volt so that is why I didn't get too excited about it. Please excuse the pun.... Look at how big the generator head is. It barely fits in the frame. It takes a fat generator head to make 110 volts at low speed. Mine is also made in 1943, 900 rpm but the Westinghouse generator has a 225 amp breaker and the tag says: 25kw, 120 volt 208 amps 1 phase, 60 cycle 900 rpm, exciter 125 volt. I can't find a PE-74 tag on it anywhere. Maybe it is really some other PE model??? I had mine running 10 years ago or so but never tested the 110 volts end. The hour meter reads about 121 hours. This engine has a 4 5/8" bore I believe. It should be a thirsty devil when fed gasoline. I didn't get too excited about it since it won't do 240 volts, it isn't all that useful for making house current at only 110. Things like the well pump, electric range, heat / AC all need 240 volts and if it can't put that out it isn't too terribly useful. Better than nothing, but..... Anybody else got these things around yet?
Thanks,
