1969 5 Ton Kaiser

I am looking at a 1969 5 Ton Kaiser truck with no bed, how hard is it to find a bed and how or were would i get one, and how much would it cost. Thanks for the help.

How would it be attached, bolts, weld, bolts and weld?

Its bolted. FWIW, I've never seen any type of truck body or bed that was welded to the frame (except by folks who do so by mistake). The frame is tempered steel, and conventional welding to it would destroy the temper, and thus substanially weaken the frame.

Ah, sorry it may have been a dumb question but seeing as I am not into mechanics or welding I would have not known.

How far away from northwest New Mexico are you? I know where a dropside deuce bed is located at, not sure if that would fit a 5 ton or not.

The M54 bed is 14' and the M35 bed is 12' if I remember correctly. If you have the shorter wheelbase M51 or M52 then the deuce bed will fit nicely.

I am probably 7+ hours away I will probably need a 14' bed
