Hi all. New to the forum as I just purchased a 1978 Pioneer Tool Trailer. It's previous life was a compressed air tank refill station (I think) for a fire department. It's currently pretty heavy as it has a lot of welded steel inside. My plan is to restore and add some slight improvements and use as an adventure trailer.
My first question is axle replacement. In my research I've learned the frame (M116A1) is the same used on M101A1 trailers. If I'm wrong, please correct me. I recently sold my house and don't have a garage at the moment (still searching for a new house) so my trailer is temporary in my parents driveway covered in snow! Since I can't measure for the axle, I think I've narrowed down the specifications in my search but want to get verification. Hub face to hub face is 60" and spring center is 43.25". Does that sound right? Looking at a 3500 lb axle, electric brakes and 6x5.5 bolt pattern (Toyota match).
Much appreciated!
